Parable 5 · Forgiveness is Liberating

A warrior named Kiran carried a heavy bag filled with stones, each representing a grudge against those who had wronged him.

One day, an elder saw him struggling and asked, "Why carry this burden?"

Kiran replied, "These stones remind me of those who betrayed me."

The elder said, "Yet, they feel no burden — you do. Forgiveness is not for them. It is for you."

Kiran set down the bag. Immediately, he felt lighter than he had in years.

Moral  ·  Forgiveness is not weakness. It is freeing yourself from unnecessary suffering.

Parable 17 · The Gift of Mentorship

A young candle burned brightly but alone in a dark room, afraid that sharing her flame would make her own light smaller.

One day, an old candle beside her said, "Light mine."

Reluctantly, she did — and was amazed to find her own flame had not dimmed at all. The room was now twice as bright.

The old candle smiled. "A flame loses nothing by lighting another. That is the secret."

Moral  ·  When we lift others with our light, the whole world grows brighter — and so do we.

Parable 57 · Overcoming the Fear of Change

A caterpillar named Nilo feared the cocoon, clinging to the safety of the leaves he knew.

One day, the wind whispered, "To resist change is to deny your wings."

Though scared, Nilo surrendered to transformation. When he emerged as a butterfly, he realized that change had not taken away his life.

It had given him flight.

Moral  ·  Change can be frightening, but it often leads to something greater. Growth requires trust in the unknown.

Parable 62 · Knowledge vs Wisdom

A scholar and a fisherman crossed a river together.

The scholar asked, "Have you studied philosophy?" The fisherman shook his head.

"Then you have wasted half your life," the scholar scoffed.

A storm arose. The fisherman asked, "Do you know how to swim?" The scholar panicked.

"Then you have wasted your whole life," the fisherman said, as he swam to safety.

Moral  ·  Knowledge is knowing. Wisdom is applying. True wisdom understands what truly matters.

Parable 100 · Nothing is Permanent

A king carved the words "This too shall pass" on his throne.

In moments of great joy, the words humbled him — reminding him not to cling.

In moments of deep sorrow, the words gave him hope — reminding him that pain is not forever.

Over time, the king became the wisest ruler his kingdom had ever known. Not because of his power, but because of those four words.

Parable 108 · Life's Greatest Wisdom

A young seeker traveled far to meet a wise sage, expecting deep teachings and grand revelations.

The sage simply sat in silence, watching the stars.

The seeker waited. And waited. Growing restless, he almost left.

But then — in the stillness — something shifted inside him. And he understood.

Sometimes the greatest wisdom is not in words at all.
